Lab testing has shown there to be no mineralogical relation to amphibole. Rather it is composed of aluminum silicate, iron and schorl & dravite tourmaline. Blue Tara Quartz, also known as Nightshade Quartz, is a trade name for Quartz with blue fibrous and prismatic type inclusions from Ipupiara, Brazil. Laboratory testing has concluded the inclusions are Tourmaline, Magnesium and Lithium. The fibrous Tourmaline inclusions are a member of the schorl-elbait series or the schorl-dravite series.
